In 1978, Urban Sawing & Scanning Co. Ltd. was the first company
in the Lower Mainland to cut 21 inches deep with a slab saw.
In 1985, we were the first company in BC to cut at 24 inches deep. This was done along the Coquihalla Highway completion project.
In 1997, Urban Sawing & Scanning Co. Ltd. introduced the use of Catalytic converters to gas and diesel saws to reduce emissions.
In 1998, Urban Sawing & Scanning Co. Ltd. developed a modified ride-on saw, which was able to cut up to 27 inches deep.
In 1999, Urban Sawing & Scanning Co. Ltd. was the first company west of Toronto to use ground-penetrating radar.
In 2004, Urban Sawing & Scanning Co. Ltd. was the first company in the Lower Mainland to use an industrial-grade slurry vacuum.

Urban Sawing and Scanning Co. Ltd. specializes in slab sawing and pavement cutting. We can cut to depths of up to 30″ and provide bevel cuts of 22.5 degrees to prevent possible slippage of newly installed pavement (asphalt or concrete).
